Day 5: Blackhawk Parade and Clydesdales

Today, Chicago threw a parade for its Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks. The parade ended at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker about 11:30 a.m.. Our hotel was also on Wacker just two blocks east of Michigan.
The scene two hours before the parade.

Hundreds of thousands of fans lined up to view the parade:

Look closely and you can see the Stanley Cup

The Budweister Clydesdales were also in the parade.

This is how the Clydesdales are transported.

During the parade, roads were closed, buses were rerouted, and people had to walk to get anywhere. Jeannie and I, trying to get to the White Sox --Cubs game, walked about 3 miles and finally got on a bus that took us to an L (subway) station. We jammed into a subway car and made our way to the Addison station on the Red Line, the station right next to Wrigley Field.
