Day 46: Arriving in Las Vegas

Day 46 began near Ontario Airport which is a little west of Los Angeles. From there we drove toward Las Vegas.

About half way to Las Vegas in the middle of the desert is the small town of Baker, California where at Bob's Big Boy is the largest thermometer in the world. A few years ago when the family stopped here, it was 120 -- the highest temperature all of us had ever been in. On this day it was a cool 104, but the hottest part of the day was still to come.

Our 25th state (plus the Disrict of Columbia)

We got to Las Vegas about 3 in the afternoon on Thursday, July 22 (my 61st birthday). Boy--does this make my mom feel old.

Thursday night we stayed at the Wynn, and they gave us a great upgrade because it was my birthday. It was fantastic. The remaining 3 nights we are at the Trump. Our room is about half way up right in the middle.

We fly back to Dallas on Monday, so this will be the last post until then because you know --
What
happens
in Vegas...
