Day 27: South Bend to Chicago to Milwaukee; Notre Dame, Cubs, Beach Boys

Day 27 began in South Bend, Indiana, the start of a hundred mile drive to Chicago.

Stormy weather in Chicago
Houston Astros-Cubs game delayed one hour.
But the sky cleared.

Star Spangled Banner sung by the Volunteers of the U. S. Army Field Band

First Pitch

Jeannie doing the wave.

Bartman Territory

Full house, and Cubs score 3 in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Final Score: Cubs 3, Astros 0.

Then it was on to Milwaukee to something called Summerfest, a 45-year event that is something like the Texas State Fair and Austin City Limits without the animals.

The main event for us was a performance at the 20+ thousand seat Marcus Amphitheater...

The Beach Boys (50th Year Reunion Tour).

We had great seats (the miracle of Craigslist).

Lots of gray hair and bald spots in the audience and on the stage, but is was a terrific time for all as the Beach Boys rocked and serenaded the crowd with 45 songs over 2 1/2 hours (that included a 25 minute break so the seniors could take care of some business).
