Day 30: July 4, Happy Birthday USA, and Rangers try the White Sox again tonight

It is the Fourth of July, just 14 years until the 250th. I remember the Texas Sesquicentennial in 1986 and the USA's Bicentennial in 1976.

The USA's 250th will be a grand celebration in 2026. It may be called the Sestercentennial, or the Semiquincentennial, or the Bicenquinquaginary.

But in Chicago today it is, Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie, and...well we drive Fords. Fireworks too tonight after the Rangers - Chicago White Sox Game.

Pregame lunch at Chicago's Italian Village Restaurant

Fuzzy Pizza

Outside the restaurant. A few minutes ago, the time was the same as the temperature.

The Rangers take the field for the first time in the bottom of the 1st with a 3-run lead.

Sox score 4 in the 2nd.

Josh Hamilton ties it 4 to 4 with a home run in the 3rd.

Same score at the 7th inning stretch.

Manager switches pitchers

Pitch with the count 3 - 2 count and runners on 1st and 2nd. What will happen?

The game is now in the bottom of the 10th, 4 to 4.

Kevin Youkilis drives in winning run for a 5 - 4 Sox victory.

Let the fireworks begin.

Goodbye Chicago, St. Louis on Thursday
